Not a true species but a general label for hybrids of R.kaempferi and R.kiusianum as well as Edo Kirishima hybrids, namely natural hybrids between the two species found on the Kirishima mountains and brought to modern-day Tokyo during the Tokugawa period. These were misidentified as a species under the name R.obtusum.
